COPD

COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) referes to chronic lung disorders that result in blocked airflow in the lungs.

The two main COPD disorders are:

  1. emphysema
  2. chronic bronchitis

These are the two most common causes of respiratory failure.

Damage from COPD is usually permanent and irreversible.
