Patients with pulmonary oedema typically present with:

• shortness of breath (usually at night .. often they will be sleeping with multiple pillows)
• upright posture
• chest pain
• possible wheezes
• productive cough with frothy sputum
• pallor/cyanosis
• swelling of ankles
